Description of MSA ALTAIR

The MSA ALTAIR is a reliable high-performance single-gas detector with sensor options of H2S , CO or O2. There is no requirement for maintenance over its lifetime making the ALTAIR a extremely economical instrument.

Maintenance-Free Service Life
The ALTAIR provides two years or 1080 alarm minutes of
service life under warranty with no maintenance. This instrument will not deactivate after two years of operation but will continue to perform as long as battery capacity allows.
No calibration, sensor change or battery change is needed.
Easy To Read Display
The ALTAIR incorporates a simple, easy to read display.
The large numeric display allows users to count down instrument life, alarm conditions, set points, peak reading and hours in alarm since activation with accuracy and confidence.
The O2 version can display the current level as well as its highest and lowest readings at a glance.
Bump Check Indicator
By confirming “Gas Test” with a single button press, the unit
allows for a simple bump check, which will be recorded and displayed on the screen as a checkmark for 24 hours. With its built-in gas delivery adapter there are no additional accessories required to carry out a bump check.
Robust Design
The ALTAIR is IP67 rated and is designed to withstand a 3 m drop test. The extra thick rubberised housing provides protection from accidental drops and helps provide a tight seal, offering simple yet effective resistance to water and dust ingress. Metal screw inserts offer a high level of structural stability over the unit’s lifetime.
Reliable Clip
With the proven suspension clip fitted as standard the ALTAIR and can be worn securely anywhere. This rugged clip design keeps the unit attached during even the roughest use.
Distinctive Alarm System
The superior triple alarm system fitted to the ALTAIR effectively
alerts the wearer to any danger. It consists of a distinctive audible alarm of 95 dB at 30 cm, super-bright LEDs visible from a 320o angle and a strong vibration alarm.
The numeric display also shows “LO” or “HI” alarm status.
Event Log
The ALTAIR will record the 25 latest alarm events automatically, offering the ability to assess recent alarm conditions.
Connect it to your MSA IR-Jeteye using the standard built-in IR communication to read the data or to change alarm set points via FiveStar Link 4.3.
Patented Sensors
Patented, MSA Button toxic gas sensors are fitted to both the CO and H2S ALTAIR, while the O2 version accommodates a fast responding 20 series sensor.
