Description of SUTO S401

Due to thermal mass flow measurement, the flow meter is well suited for use with various gases such as nitrogen or many other technical gases. The S401 sensor technology provides high resolution and a high sampling rate, resulting in fast and accurate measurement. The flow meter is capable of storing two calibration curves, allowing the sensor to be used with two different gases without loss of accuracy.

The optional color display is designed to show all measured values, such as actual flow rate and total consumption. At the same time, the display can be used to adjust sensor settings, such as pipe diameter, gas type, or output parameters.

The S401 flow meter offers two signal output options. It can be equipped with an isolated analog and pulse output for reading compressed air flow rate and total compressed air consumption. Alternatively, a Modbus/RTU interface can be used to access all measured values via a digital interface.

The SUTO S401 insertion type flow meter is an easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for compressed air and gas monitoring. Thanks to its wide measuring range and high reliability, the device is suitable for a variety of industrial applications. Due to the thermal mass flow principle, the device does not require pressure and temperature compensation of the compressed air. This means that no additional pressure and temperature sensors are needed for standard flow and consumption measurement – simplifying installation and reducing system cost.

Because the flow meter can be easily installed through a standard ball valve, it can also be easily removed for calibration without shutting down the compressed air system. Device parameters – gas type, flow units, reference conditions (ISO1217 / DIN1343) – can be preset ex-factory according to your requirements. This provides a sensor ready for operation without additional on-site configuration. If on-site settings need to be changed, you can use the free S4C-FS mobile app. The app allows you to wirelessly change sensor settings on site and view live readings directly from your smartphone. This enables you to adjust settings wirelessly on site with a single touch on your smartphone. For any special requirements, such as non-standard flow ranges or different gas types, please contact us.

The flow meter can be easily connected to SUTO data loggers (e.g., S331), third-party PLCs, and monitoring systems. Digital interfaces enable direct integration into energy management and analysis software.
